Dominican Daughters of the Immaculate Mother

BRIEF HISTORY

DDIM HISTORY

The Congregation of the Dominican Daughters of the Immaculate Mother [DDIM] is a Roman Catholic religious institute of diocesan right founded in Tandang Sora, Quezon City, Philippines on December 08, 1972 by Rev. Fr. Pablo Villaroel Fernandez, O.P. [1917-1992], a Spanish Dominican Friar of Our Lady of the Rosary Province in the Philippines.

EARLY BEGINNINGS

Since its foundation in 1972, the sisters have embraced primarily the apostolate of evangelization through education and catechesis. The seeds of the Congregation’s apostolate took root in Tandang Sora, Quezon City, where the first three sisters started to live and prayed together in a temporary residential house owned by the sister’s relative and taught catechism to the families in the neighborhood.

THE APOSTOLATE SPREAD BEYOND AS VOCATIONS FLOURISH

With the exponential growth of the number of sisters, the congregation expanded and accepted offers from other Catholic schools starting from Angelicum School, Quezon City [1976-1992] to teach Religion classes from Nursery to Grade 6 pupils and some classes in High School.
